Bunker Under Reconstruction

The Stiftung is undertaking modernization to reinforce the Bunker’s Wotan Steel infrastructure. Please pardon the inconvenience. We also hope to integrate the comments, threads and posts from STSOZ 1.0 into this upgraded version as well.

OK folks, we’re throwing some new paint around to make the site more comfortable and easier on the eyes, etc. Bear with us.

Have been giving thoughts to comments re readability and preference for 800 pixels. Just looked at the blog on a different monitor/computer rig and take the points to heart. Let’s see what we can do . . .

re Database migration – just let the STSOZ 1.0 posts run over the border to STSOZ 2.0. Think of your firewall between the two as a leaky area of the rio grande, only to be firmed up later on with Duncan Hunter’s double firewall.

Joseph, that’s an excellent point. Fortunately, we are not locked into a 1024 design. If others prefer the 800 pixel dimensions, let us know.

The thing I don’t like about this theme is that it made for a minimum width of 1024 pixels, and at my preferred reading width of 800 pixels I have to scroll left to right. However, having looked at the stylesheet, I see this would be difficult to fix (it would be a challenge to turn the main content column into a “fluid” one with this theme).

As I read the bulk of the posts in a RSS reader anyway, I suppose I shouldn’t complain too much. But there you go.

New site looks good – We’ll have to check out that Hitch thing now – We assume there was a very good reason for his studied silence until now. Perhaps, he is/was under some legal discipline of some sorts.

Hitch finally pulls out the blunt butter knife on Conrad Black here:
