As If This Is Gonna End Well . . . (Revised)

TPM Cafe continues its excellent reporting. Obama’s war will have possibly 120,000-160,000 contractors in Afghanistan. Guess he’s serious about finding jobs. Too bad they’re not here. Or for a cause worth their sacrifice.

Uh, yeah, our dental is OK. I guess. But they stopped 401k matching. What about you guys? Word is you have only $20 co pays. And you get wellness coverage. Cause I could totally switch for you babe, you know that. You. And my shiatsu under plan. Let's check out your benefits folder at your tent? Oorah!

It gets better and better. At least Galbraith isn’t condemning Karzai for mishandling the Buddhist Monk crisis . . .

We think Julian is mostly right here about the cultural politics – Though he fails to emphasize the slumming aspect of some of the power elite within the GOP – There is a Dem anologue in this respect – ex. Kerry claiming to like rap music:

Probably in poor taste, but we are glad to see Franken upsetting grouchy McCain once again:

Shutting up a sanctimonious war monger and master betrayer like Lieberman offsets the downside to comity, imo.

Honestly, I’d rather have Xe mercs die than US soldiers. Mercs are fungible.

Given the prostitution and human slavery rings Dyncorp personnel ran and operated in Bosnia, they might be a splinter group of a Tad Haggard-esque ‘tea bagging’ party. Although they might not meet Haggard’s high standards for meth intake.

Dyncorp workers are mostly progressives, right?
