Do you care about Beauchamp, TNR or the Weekly Standard? Thought not. And here’s the latest effluvium. Only the ineffectual TNR and elements of the American Left could allow Neocons to gain the upper ground on the issue of accuracy and veracity. Truly pathetic.
Slate digs into Pacino, but there is a point. The discipline of 1972 is not the scenery chewing of Devil’s Advocate. But should anyone care when the industry has bloated far worse?

Positive Liberty, the thinking person’s thinking blog, says nice things about the Stiftung but then goes on to a explore a rich discussion of the Hegelian. Check it out.
Neocons and Neocons-lite still debate America’s Grand Strategy.
Tweety’s obsession with HRC and unreconstructed white catholic male chauvinism continues to astound. He convulses now even mentioning her name, barely bothering to conceal his propulsive castration nightmares. His fixation on the whole “girl” thing, and her role as a “Goldwater Girl” (while never admitting he was a Goldwatter ‘Guy’) veering close to Tucker-esque flatulence. One can imagine the identical gyrations, vocal inflections and acting out when even thinking about the idea of a female priest . . .

‘to burn out the The Shat doing The Shat’
Heh. My favorite Shat over-acting is in the Motion Picture, where he looks at the remains of the charred woman in transporter and says, ‘My…GOD.’

Yeah, here in Glengary he is still showing some discipline . . .

The Director for Star Trek II said the same thing about The Shat. He would have to do take after take to burn out the The Shat doing The Shat, and by the 5th take or so, actually get some acting out of him.
My guess is that Slate is writing about DeNiro not just because of his NYC gig but also the non-stop cable Godfather-a-thons. Wall to wall bada bing all over your nice ivy league suits.
Tweety has some profound misogyny issues imo.

Re Hardball last night, did that moron actually ask the female guest to move closer to the screen? (Didn’t see the program.)

Re Pacino, I hadn’t seen a lot of Pacino, really mainly Dog Day Afternoon when it came out, so Scent of a Woman really worked for me. The Tango scene was excellent. The writer didn’t mention films like Sea of Love and the one with…what’s her name…they worked in a diner. Both sweet movies. I thought Heat was a colossal waste of DeNiro and Pacino. Please don’t hate me, but I’ve never seen The Godfather. Glengary Glenross was interesting…Pacino nailed that one.
