The House lights came up. People are blinking. What’s your last round order? Obama’s sticking with Shirley Temples.

I think we finally have our answer to the real question now. I give you credit Doctor, you peg the “Boy King” from the very beginning.

@Comment re books, I have Shakespeare for Dummies, that I’ve delved into slightly. I recommend it.
I frequently take long car trips, and love audio books. The right narrator adds a whole new dimension. Makes the trip time fly by. A general recommendation for travel: A Confederacy of Dunces, narrated by Whitener. His rendering of Ingatius is golden.
Speaking of allergies, have you looked into getting a Kindle or Nook?

It’s sort of ironic that Rep. Pete King calls Wikileaks a terrorist organization (drones over UK?), when he himself was regarded as a terrorist by the UK gov under Thatcher due to his close ties to alleged members of the Provisional IRA. Ironically – Thatcher was herself secretly negotiating with IRA members at the same time her gov was attacking KIng for his public links with suspected terrorists.

Boy these Burkeans talk tough – Tough guys at WaTimes. When WaPo journos wanna kill some foreigners they usually disguise the bloodlust inside some neolib or neocon claptrap. Not so with this tougg Edmund Burke disciple.

Great list Aldershot – We also have books unread because of the web. OTOH, we have been able to read allergy free old books on google books that we never would have been able to read w/ the web and google has made it easier to learn the meaning of many parts of Shakespeare et al that we otherwise would not know.

No, Comment, I’ve not read ‘Kim,’ but it’s on my reading list. You know, the one I will never get to if I don’t do something about my internet addiction and its detrimental effects on my reading habits and attention span.
Books I just ordered from Amazon, henceforth to be called The Whore of Babylon 🙂 :
Why Orwell Matters by Hitchens
Difficult Freedom: Essays on Judaism by Levinas
Moments of Engagement by Kramer (of Listening to Prozac fame)

“Mr. Obama looks even more centrist now than he did before wrapping up the nomination. Most notably, he has outraged many progressives by supporting a wiretapping bill that, among other things, grants immunity to telecom companies for
any illegal acts they may have undertaken at the Bush administration’s behest”
“One thing is clear: for Democrats, winning this election should be the easy part. Everything is going their way:sky-high gas prices, a weak economy and a deeply unpopular president
The real question is whether they will take advantage of this once-in-a-generation chance to change the country’s direction. And that’s mainly up to Mr. Obama”

We ask why we don’t ALL here have Pultizers by now? All the legions of Obama Kool Aid Chuggers pouting across the blogs, their cable blather, all those pathetic, whining tweets — all the ‘Progressive Thought Leaders’ [sic] now trumpet these new stunning insights!
We all called it here in 2007 – that’s frickin’ precognition, man. How we detest the naively exuberant Maddow-esque arrivistes. These whiners are the kind of people in disaster movies who argue against taking decisive action when it would have made a difference. Now, when they realize too late they totally screwed up? They swamp the fleeing rescue boat, dragging everyone down with them.
We have no compunction about kicking them in the face back into the stampede, leaving them with their failed Boy King. People like Tweety and that portion of the Democratic Party accommodated Christian Socialist Authoritarianism quite well before. They’ll do so again. In addition, there’s no escaping it, a significant percentage of Democrats revel in being victims. They’re uncomfortable winning and exercising power. Now they can bleat freely. And all those doomed romantic fools who took out Kool Aid franchises pushing the Obama narrative junk?
Collectively, you made him. This is your reward. Welcome to your mess, too.
