Haven’t had much to say about recent events. They’ve panned out as we’ve long discussed here – from the Movement versus Republicans, Libya, AfPak, President Goldilocks to Liz Warren. The Boy King is at 44% approval rating. Amazing it’s that high.
@Sam Lowry Agree with you, Sam. Slow movers are more scary. Not a fan of the fast mover revisionist school. re Murdoch, it’d be nice to think there’s a larger corporate and personal reach. Murdoch has been pro-active so far. Fingers crossed. Again.
My favorite panel is the one with the astronaut and the teacher. The scroll over caption (not sure what else to call it) is classic: “The Astroturf radicals at first don’t seem dangerous….” Many a society probably says that on their descent into collective insanity. We might get our chance soon enough.
I’m sure I’m grasping at straws, but here’s to hoping that the ongoing phone hacking scandal in the UK crosses the pond and puts a dent in Murdoch’s US media empire. Although I’m sure the FBI’s announced investigation will be spun as “Obama’s FBI declares war on Fox!” or some such. Not that I see Fox as the sole problem with the American corporate media; but damn, they are something else entirely different from the likes of the supposed liberal, lamestream media. Anyway, let the games begin!
re Newt, did wonder what the tax implications of the transaction were. People forget that Roy Cohn earned exactly $1 a year and the rest untouchable. Not that Newt is as smart as Cohn.
Thanks Comment for picking up the Five Pillars thing. Meant to mock it here. Laughed hard when it came out. So predictably ham-handed and unintentionally funny. Even funnier watching the pundit set run with it.
re JPod, Jonah Goldberg so far is as far as we can go venturing into that circle. Sometimes JG will pass along a JPod or the like. Sounds like JPod writes and thinks as he tweets. Wonder if he’s smart enough to to know he’s the cannibals’ next meal after Dick Durbin.
JPod’s twitter feed is just funny to read from time to time – An endless series of bitter tweets – resentment, bad jokes, and unhealthy mixture of pseudo populism and pseudo intellectualism

Thanks, appreciate the kind words. Almost punted on the Boy King depicted here but it seems graphic mischief has its own demands.

“Five pillars” of computer security – shows that Pentagon’s poor metaphors may suggest a lack of understanding about the nature of the threat. Pillars suggest immobility and lack of agile response – rigid, inflexible.

Newt’s airplane debt is probably just a loss leader for one of his cheesy businesses.

Thanks Karl. That original image will return. Realized the end of the story told before the beginning.

Could be the best post I’ve seen here, ever.
