What’s not to love? Especially when you see how I party. It was epic. The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards just look like droopy-eyed armless children.
I am on a drug. It’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available because if you try it you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body.
I got tiger blood, man. My brain….fires in a way that is — I don’t know, maybe not from this particular terrestrial realm.

I like it. My wife hates it. Does that surprise anyone?

@Comment : The bit about “you must either love or hate and you must do so violently” is a near-quote from Gabriele D’Annunzio, so no wonder it fits into the pattern so well.

“The practice of sharing reporter e-mails with another journalist on a clandestine basis would be egregiously unprofessional under any circumstances,” -John Harris
Actually – not really – But this shows the priorities of the Politico crowd. Btw, we were pretty puzzled by that Assange story and could not decided if it was true. Perhaps = Obviously anything is possible – but it seemed weird that Assange would be so blatant and confess his conspiracy theory in such direct terms – Especially considering his long time as a shadow operator. So we figured it may have been something inferred and then exaggerated.
Greenwald is pretty correct in the way he compares how the msm just accepts the truth of this highly disputed story with they way they acted as if there was a tremendous ambiguity about torture when Warlord reigned.

Have glimpsed the show momentarily while surfing between channels. The format alone no longer appeals.

Charlie Sheen had 28k twitter followers about an hour ago – Now he has about 140k. Pretty good 1hour accumulation shows how valuable he is – We’ve never seen his TV show though.

Gingrey – btw – passes on making sensible arguments against Obama health care plan – Instead, he compares Massachusetts unfavorably with Mississippi – A bizzaro comparison.

It could also be seen when Colbert was not yet well known and many of these congressman thought his ridiculous questions were real.

Woops – Here is the Kissinger feed:

Speaking of general intelligence of Congressman – Holt really is a cut above. We just tuned into Phil Gingrey speaking along w/Cassidy from La. Both men are technically well educated and well trained, but they struggle with understanding basic concepts – as can be seen for sincere attempts at analogy that fail and the way they confuse propaganda with real issues.

This Henry Kissinger Twitter feed is (IMHO) far wittier than the Rahm swears a lot feed. Some of “Kissinger’s” tweets are truly clever.

Agree Huck is acting as a media competitor. He’s too smart to give up his current good gig.

Also – doesn’t Huck know you’re not supposed to mention Media Matters?
Comment says
Huck probably can’t resist the urge to get into a back and forth with a media personality – Shows he is now more TV star than political leader. Huck has actually been the beneficiary of a double standard himself – he regularly denounces his own country and his own country’s foreign policy when visits Israel. This lack of grace is especially galling because of the willful ignorance – not to mention the blimpish attitude GOPers are supposed to have.
Also – as a minister he really should not be having fun at the expense of someone in distress. Sheen jokes are fine for comedians – but a would be President and minister? At this point -we’ll have to resist a hillbilly joke.
Dr Leo Strauss says
Huck tries for a pop culture reference. Comparing Tweety to Charlie Sheen. Defaming Sheen gets Huck nowhere.

Yeah – the Atlantic paper was just way over the top. Reminds us of when TV reviewers were not content to just say Seinfeld was funny, but had to call it a “perfect show.” Then the show declined the year after when it became self conscious of its own greatness.
Comment says
@anxiousmodernman Yeah – that was basically our objection – Not the tweets themselves, but how the whole DC media culture sort of embraced it as some sort of inside joke. We’ve long felt swearing was overrated as joke fodder and never really figured out why DC media types thought it was so funny that Rahm swore a lot. We know there are political officials with far more outrageous views and statements. We guess the secret of the guy’s success was not the tweets themselves, but his masked identity led people to think he was an insider – So the media thought it was an inside job – If they knew all along it was just this enterprising guy they did not know, it would not have caught on.
anxiousmodernman says
The @MayorEmanuel tweets are funny, and also a real distraction that the Chicago Political Machine is running in real tip top shape. I mean, it was just a little too easy for Rahm, right?
The Atlantic piece Comment cites reads like one of my less-than-stellar undergrad papers on aesthetics.

@Dr Leo Strauss Greenwald is fixated on the idea that media respects the pretense. No doubt the msm are often tools and secrecy and anonymity are used to for reasons that have zero to do w/national security. It would be fun to see every spy in every embassy in DC exposed as such, but where does it alll end – Seems to me if Pak didn’t want to give him cover, they could have objected when he entered the country.

The whole issue puzzles. People around town were talking about Davis as an Agency headache from the get go. It was even on TV before the Guardian ‘broke’ the story. Just don’t get the contretemps.

Greenwald is brilliant, but he has the consistency of a mad man. Nothing wrong with what Obama said – Reducto Ad Absurdum if Greenwald got his wish for a purely transparent Gov and press without any mixed feelings.

People we know in the non-desirable advertising demo quietly enjoyed Sheen’s antics as vicarious outlet. Going so public forces them to withdraw tacit winks and join in consensual judgment.
The ‘face will melt off’ and the ‘armless children’ riffs stood out here. The ‘tiger blood’ is good, too.
Comment says
Tiger blood sounds kind of cool – I’d use that phase – but it’s present association with Sheen could undermine it. Eagle eyed, tiger blooded, and lion hearted — hard to see what’s better.
